ABSTRACT

Narvell pulled in the driveway at home and noticed that his roommate, Bobby Evans, was already home. Bobby was a nice enough guy, not real bright, but easy enough to live with. Narvell had met him working in an electronics manufacturer’s distribution center just before his senior year in college. Bobby was one of those guys who were on the seven-year plan at the university, and it didn’t look like he would ever finish college. The night Narvell accepted the job at M.E. Burdette Co., he had run into Bobby at a bar just off campus, where he had stopped for a celebratory drink after accepting the position with M.E. Burdette at the close of his third interview. As they drank the night away, Narvell mentioned that he was now going to have to find a place to live since he was back in town to stay. Bobby spoke right out saying that his roommate moved out the week before, and he was welcome to room with him. That was that. After graduating, Narvell had moved home to commence his career search only to wind up back in this neighborhood just off campus. It wasn’t a bad house … sort of like what you’d expect with a couple of young, single guys in the college town.
