ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we will look at the invention of the GPS system by the United States and then discuss other nations such as China, Russia, and the European Union which followed later. This chapter will also describe some of the American and Russian GPS navigation devices that exist and then show examples of software that are used to examine such devices. There will also be a description of some of the education and certi”cations that GPS navigation device examiners have or would like to have. The chapter also contains a story that typi”es some of the culture and humor one might encounter at a gathering of digital forensic examiners.
