ABSTRACT
Poor detailing is often connected with a lack of suf‡cient design thought and accompanied by poor workmanship in construction. The combination can lead to structural failure. Many of the case studies in this chapter have resulted from extrapolations from previous jobs. Small modi‡cations were made to save construction time and cost. This was not accompanied by suf-‡cient checks to ensure a safe structure.
