ABSTRACT

Over the years there have been several attempts at building building blocks for TFT circuits and to characterize their performance [130]-[144]. In this chapter we look at several commonly used circuits with field effect transistors. These circuits are not particularly designed for non-crystalline semiconductors but are essential building blocks for any application related to large-area electronics. However, keeping in mind the limitations of TFTs - namely threshold voltage shift, poor mobility, and lack of complementary devices, we restrict ourselves to only certain circuit architectures. This chapter justifies itself due to the importance of these elementary building blocks and their use in synthesising any system. The chapter introduces these circuits to the unfamiliar reader.
