ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the aspects to be considered while defining enterprise mobile adoption strategy. It discusses the ideal approach and the key factors to be accounted while defining an effective enterprise mobile adoption strategy. Enterprise mobility solutions are complex, as their development is based on diverse technologies, and require considerable customization, as no single solution fits every user or industry. Information is the cornerstone for preparing an effective enterprise strategy. The application type(s) that will address the enterprise's requirements needs to be determined as part of the strategy. Security is a key concern especially because the mobile server integrates with multiple enterprise systems. The issue most mobility architects face is to include the mobile as an additional channel when the back-end enterprise system is already having a lot of latency in processing requests from existing channels. The mobility adoption strategy is prepared to satisfy a specific roadmap that the enterprise wants to achieve.
