ABSTRACT
Owing to the recent advancement of science and technology, the use of biological agents has opened a novel, effective, and relatively target-speciœc approach to the treatment of autoimmune diseases. These biological agents, commonly called biologics, are therapeutic serum, toxin, antitoxin, vaccine, virus, blood, blood component or derivative, allergenic product, or analogous product, or derivatives used for the prevention, treatment, or cure of human diseases. In this chapter, we discuss the biologics used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
