ABSTRACT

Nepal and Bhutan are entirely in the Himalayas. The developments there are governed by the Himalayan environmental characteristics, interlinked with the plains in view of land-water ecodynamics. The Himalayan region presents challenging opportunities but demands very high societal and technological capabilities. The developments are governed, as usual, by the socioeconomic milieu, which are similar except that Nepal is even further away from the glimmer of modernity compared to India, and Bhutan is even further removed.
