ABSTRACT

This chapter provides seven types of self-lift converters, P/O Luo converters, N/O Luo converters, modified P/O Luo converters and double-output Luo converters. Voltage-lift (VL) technique is a general method used in electronics circuitry design to amplify the output voltage. VL technique is applied in the periodical switching circuit. Usually, a capacitor is charged during the switch-on condition by certain voltage, for example, source voltage. Three series Luo converters are newly developed from prototypes using VL technique. These converters perform DC/DC voltage-increasing conversion with high power density, high efficiency, and cheap topology with simple structure. All self-lift converters introduced are derived from developed converters such as Luo converters, Cuk converter, and VL single-ended primary inductance converter. Self-lift Cuk converter and its equivalent circuits during the switch-on and switch-off periods. The output voltage of the self-lift Cuk converter is higher than the corresponding Cuk converter by an input voltage. It retains one of the merits of the Cuk converter.
