ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we present a number of disparate concepts we see currently emerging in the šeld of threat management. Budget cuts at the state and local government levels are severely impacting any threat manager’s ability to intervene e–ectively. reat management teams-not only in law enforcement, but also in the mental health and private industry sectors-have enclosed themselves in silos, cutting themselves o– from e–ective information sharing and communication with other entities. ey have also hunkered down into bunkers, e–ectively blinding themselves to the larger issues presented by individuals who intend to act violently.
