ABSTRACT
This chapter covers threaded fasteners. These are a very Œexible method for attaching components as they allow future easy disassembly. Threaded fasteners are designed principally for tensile loads but will accept a small level of shear load. This chapter begins with a general description of threads and then progresses to cover pre-tension diagrams, and so forth.
