ABSTRACT
A stated design goal of CMMI is to capture the key concepts of the activities and emerging engineering standards from several organizations, such as the EIA, IEEE, INCOSE, and ISO. e CMMI architecture is an adaptation of the ISO Software Process Improvement Capability determination (SPICE) Baseline Practices Guide along with the applicable references. It includes all the basic activities (BAs) that are required to perform good technical sustainability engineering activities as well as the management functions that are required to empower, enable, and track these sustainability engineering activities, such as planning, monitoring, control, and training. ese processes also provide the basis for assessment and a stepwise improvement path. is path can be used to systematically improve sustainability engineering eŸectiveness and maturity within the military sustainment enterprise.
