ABSTRACT
Listeria monocytogenes is a foodborne pathogen. It can easily be isolated from many sources in the environment as well as from a wide variety of fish, birds, and mammals. Because L. monocytogenes is a psychrotroph, the growth of this organism cannot be controlled by refrigeration temperature alone.
