ABSTRACT
A key factor in the design of modern combat aircraft cockpits is ensuring that the target population can be fully accommodated. The cost of training, the scarcity of potential pilots, and the drive for maximising the potential for export have led to the expansion of the aircrew anthropometric population at both ends of the distribution. In particular, the introduction of women into the military cockpit has given rise to smaller pilots with reduced strength capability.
