ABSTRACT

OffIce Workers generally have access to office furniture of both reasonable and uniform ergonomic value but Teleworkers have traditionally had to improvise their workstations. One solution to this problem is for the company employing the Teleworker to provide them with a workstation and I.T. set-up. This approach may be characterised as "If the worker won't come to the office then bring the office to the worker". Companies who implement this method gain a degree of intluence over the working environment of the users. The approach does not reduce the need for companies to assess Teleworkers workstations but it does for ensure that there are fewer workers who need serious intervention in their workstation set-ups.
