ABSTRACT
Introduction In December 2008, a man dressed as Santa Claus knocked at the door of a family celebrating Christmas with friends and relatives. An 8-year-old girl opened the door and was shot in the face. The man opened fire on the other members of the gathering. He then set the home afire. Moving on to his brother’s house, he set a second house afire, and then shot himself. What was the motivation for these scenes of mass murder? Apparently there was some type of discord between him and his estranged wife of his one child.
