Major concerns that call for the immediate attention of industries include: the rising production costs, decline in availability of raw materials, and extra expenditure incurred in treating wastes before disposal, which are cutting into the profit margins of the industries. ¢ese issues emphasize the importance of recovery, recycling, and upgrading of processing wastes in all industries.
