ABSTRACT
In this chapter we will look at the most common steps performed in preparation for study database lock in both paper-based and electronic data capture (EDC) studies and address some ways in which the time to study lock can be reduced. The next chapter discusses activities that happen after the database is locked and touches on what needs to be done if a data change is needed after lock.
