ABSTRACT

The modern theory of the Toyota Production System is a way to explore and understand Toyota’s management system using general systems theory and living systems theory. Systems theory is based on the interplay and dynamic nature of variables, which require systems to be adaptable and flexible. The success of a management system is largely dependent on how the properties of the system are organized when the conditions of the company change. Management systems have to fit the needs of the organization, which makes their implementation completely dependent on the business climate and organizational circumstance. The time it takes for systems to develop is dependent on how directive or participative leadership chooses to drive change. A management system is said to be fully implemented when all of its members agree to use it or they believe it is a better way to go than to work to another system.
