In the late 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) is urging the world to brace for a second wave of the H1N1 pandemic as the heavily populated Northern Hemisphere edges toward the cooler season when u thrives. ere had been second and third waves in previous pandemics. us, one has to be prepared for whatever surprises this capricious new virus would deliver in the coming years. More than 6000 people have died since H1N1 was uncovered in Mexico nearly 7 months ago (April to midOctober 2009). Twenty-two million Americans were infected by the H1N1 during the earlier period of which 4000 were killed aer a new counting method yielded an estimate six times higher than the last one. e virus is more infectious than seasonal u and more durable through the warmer months. It is mystied at the “most worrying” characteristic of this virus. Nearly 40% of the most severe or fatal cases occur in people who are in perfect health.
