ABSTRACT

When DJO Global (DJO) began to bring Lean inking into its R & D labs in 2003, Lean Product Development was in its infancy. ere was not much in the way of external examples to guide them. e books that laid the theoretical framework for Lean Product Development had not yet been published, and Lean Product Developers still su§ered from the inappropriate use of Lean Manufacturing tools in product development processes. DJO’s engineers would need to build their own model because there was no model to follow.
