ABSTRACT
This chapter will provide a brief overview of the epidemiology of Parkinson’s disease (PD). The primary focus will be a review of descriptive epidemiological ndings and a discussion of how these patterns might help us understand the causes of disease. The last section will summarize risk factors that will be covered in greater detail in later chapters.
