ABSTRACT
The leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) gene encodes a large multidomain protein also named dardarin (PaisanRuiz et al., 2004; Zimprich et al., 2004a). The gene name is derived from the presence of leucine-rich repeats and a kinase domain, dardarin being the Basque term for tremor.
