ABSTRACT
Kamerlingh Onnes’ 1911 discovery of the superconductivity of mercury at a temperature just below the boiling point of liquid helium [1,2] was the initiating event in this huge ongoing research effort. Data on the general subject of type I superconductivity is abundantly available, although the availability of specic details can be dependent on the trends that focus enquiry in science.
