ABSTRACT

The chapter looks at innovations and regulations, drawing the role of scientists and other players in innovations as well as the role of regulations and regulators. Coverage of various steps in taking innovations in healthy and functional foods to market, vis-à-vis existing and emerging regulations, and what it takes to bring in desired changes in regulations will form part of the chapter. Reforming regulations and factors that promote such reforms will be covered. In some places, possible examples or brief case studies are given.
