ABSTRACT

Shooting reconstructions apply many well-known elements from physics, mathematics, biology, and chemistry. Describing the chemistry required to recognize and to measure the eÂuents produced when a rearm discharges could supply material for an entire chapter. Another chapter could cover the design of various types of ammunition and their various physical properties. With the advent of lead-free bullets, primers, and powders, both detection methods and discharge analyses have developed considerably from the early days of black powder rearms.
