ABSTRACT
The importance of studying high pressure phenomena at variable temperatures is obvious given that neutron scattering deals with issues such as magnetism, hydrogen ordering, and lattice dynamics which all depend strongly on temperature. The PE presses have the capability to cover the temperature range of 3.5 K to approximately 1000 K. The technical solutions are however not unique and depend strongly on the temperature range required, the kind of measurements and the scattering geometry.
