Objectives ◾ Understand the significance of business analysis (BA) in the organization in the context of

composite Agile ◾ Outline the BA core areas of work (i.e., identify the business needs and capabilities and the

corresponding functional and operational requirements) and the impact of Agile on them ◾ Highlight the value added by BA in exploring the business needs of the organization ◾ Discuss the various levels in the organization at which BA occurs and the way in which

Agility impacts that work ◾ Describe the relationship of business analysts with multiple other roles in the business at

both project and organizational levels ◾ Discuss business process management (BPM) and its relationship with Agility ◾ Review the leading BA frameworks (International Institute of Business Analysts, IIBA;

Australian Institute of Business Analysis, AIBA; Skills Framework for Information Age, SFIA) and their importance in providing the basis for a composite Agile approach to business

◾ Present the requirements modeling process map that guides the activities of a business analyst within a project and position Agile practices within that process map

◾ Briefly review the use case, activity, class, and state diagrams of the Unified Modeling Language (UML) as used by business analysts to model requirements and show the relevance of these diagrams to Agile practices
