ABSTRACT
Objectives ◾ Identify the challenges faced by organizations as they attempt to practice Agile methods ◾ Summarize Agile challenges into four categories: technologies, people, processes, and money ◾ Separate the challenges in Agile at a tactical level (in projects) versus challenges faced in
strategic adoption of Agile across an entire organization ◾ Separate the challenges in using Agile in software projects versus Agile in nonsoftware
projects ◾ Describe role-based challenges in the use of Agile-as various roles within a project have
their specific responsibilities and, therefore, unique challenges ◾ Describe the challenges associated with the use of Agile in different project types (e.g.,
package implementation versus new development; software development versus product manufacturing; in-house versus outsourced) and sizes (e.g., small versus large) of projects
◾ Outline the need for an organization-level adoption model to ease the transitioning to Agile (the model itself is discussed in detail in Chapter 10)
◾ Understand the influence of business domain and product type on organizational adoption of Agile
◾ Discuss the starting point for business transformation with Agility-based on businessoperational issues that lead to business-strategic discussions
