ABSTRACT

In order to explain explicitly the general and fundamental postulates of different systems, be they natural or social, one needs theories to describe the intrinsic mechanism underlying the systems and the interactions between these individual systems and their outside environments. In this chapter, self-organization systems and relevant theories are introduced. In particular, the theory of dissipative structures focuses on the relationship between a system and its outside environment, while the theory, named synergetics, aims at the investigation of the intrinsic operational mechanism of systems.
