ABSTRACT

Among the countless applications of this mechanism are piston engines , pumps, compressors , saws , and other forms of reciprocating machinery. Some examples of these applications can be seen in Figures 1 5 .4 to 1 5 . 7 . Also, like the four-bar linkage, this mechanism is generally used

of output motions as well as a model to simplify the analysis of more complex machines. For these reasons , the slider crank is one of the most frequently analyzed mechanisms . In this analysis , the linear ve locity and acceleration relationships will be developed for any angular position of the drive crank.
