ABSTRACT
During the high-flow season when river discharges exceed a certain threshold value, loose bed materials exposed to the flowing water are mobile and result in different bedforms. Dunes are one of the common bedforms in alluvial rivers, which develop in a wide range of textural materials. Dunes are known to affect the temporal and spatial distributions of velocity, local shear stress and, by implication, local sediment transport.
