ABSTRACT
Dissociative amnesia, also known as psychogenic amnesia, is
an amnestic disorder characterized by episodes of amnesia for
emotionally traumatic events. This disorder is more common
in females than males, and may occur, to varying degrees of
severity, in up to 2 percent of the general population.
