ABSTRACT
The patient with paranoid personality disorder is character-
istically distrustful and on guard, quick to take offense and
read malevolence into what others do, and prone to harbor
deep, long-standing resentments. This disorder occurs in
0.5 2 percent of the general population, and appears to be more common among males than females.
