ABSTRACT
Aphasia is a fascinating clinical phenomenon, as it represents
a disruption of that most human of all characteristics, namely
language. The classification of the various types of aphasia
has a long and contentious history: although the approach
offered here is currently dominant, further research may
require a more or less substantial revision.
