ABSTRACT
Pregnancy is historically dated from the last menstrual period. However, this assumes a 28-day cycle and may need to be adjusted if longer. Ultrasound dates are more accurate than the LMP. Head circumference is most appropriate for dating between 14 and 20 weeks. See Chapter 1, Obstetrics by Ten Teachers, 19th edition.
