ABSTRACT
The term psychosis has been used differently by different authors, and this has led to some confusion in the literature. In this text, psychosis refers to a condition characterized by hallucinations (without insight) and/or delusions, in the absence of either significant cognitive deficits or pronounced disturbances of mood.
