ABSTRACT

Sarcoid granulomas tend to follow a perilymphatic distribu-

tion and are thus most abundant in the bronchiolo-arterial

bundles and in the interlobular septa (Corrin and Nicholson

2006). Granulomas are also numerous in the mucosa and

submucosa of the main airways. It is therefore not surprising

that both large and small airways can be affected by

sarcoidosis, through a variety of mechanisms.
