ABSTRACT

Sarcoidosis is rarely diagnosed in childhood, but the

manifestations are so disparate that the possibility of the

diagnosis should at least be considered in many common and

rare clinical scenarios. Most studies of the pathophysiology

and treatment are in adults, and these are discussed else-

where in this volume. This chapter will focus only on

specifically pediatric aspects of pathophysiology, epidemiol-

ogy in children, the clinical manifestations over the span of

childhood, prognosis, and such data as exist on the treatment

of children.
