ABSTRACT
In this patient the cancer has invaded the recurrent laryngeal nerve (giving rise to hoarseness) and subcutaneous tissues. Palliative radiotherapy is sometimes given.
2 A This middle-aged woman is clinically hyperthyroid. The exophthalmos picked up by the GP is a sign of Graves’ disease and does not occur in other forms of hyperthyroidism.
