ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION In spite of rapid technological advances, the successful diagnosis of neurological disease depends on the ability to take a thorough history from patients, relatives and eyewitnesses. Skilled neurologists often have slightly obsessive personalities and may spend long hours perusing the medical records looking for a previously unrecognized nugget of clinical information which reveals the diagnosis. The three fundamental questions that need answering are always:
