ABSTRACT
The carpal tunnel is a space on the ventral surface of the wrist between the bony gutter of the concave carpus and the overlying flexor retinaculum.The retinaculum is a strong fibrous band attached proximally to the tubercle of the scaphoid and the pisiform bone and distally to the hook of hamate and tubercle of the trapezium.
