ABSTRACT
In this chapter, some of the basic techniques required in health physics laboratories for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of samples are discussed. These include gross alpha (a) and beta (b) counting of samples and the use of spectrometry and other methods for identifying radionuclides. Methods for leak testing radioactive-sealed sources are also described.
