ABSTRACT

A 30-year-old man of Japanese descent has presented to the emergency department with a two-day history of bilateral red eyes with visual impairment. Over the past year he has had recurrent fever, weight loss, right knee pain, recurrent oral ulcers and genital ulcers over the scrotum, but earlier investigations did not yield a uniform diagnosis. He has no sexual history. He has been treated with warfarin on three occasions due to deep vein thrombosis.
