ABSTRACT
This is a mild reduction in platelet count occurring in the second or third trimester, with no bleeding problems for mother or baby. The platelet count is usually in the range 100–150 × 109/L and reverts to normal after pregnancy.
Vaginal delivery is safe.
Regional analgesia is safe.
Platelet count returns to normal 2–12 weeks after delivery.
