ABSTRACT
The following events increase the risk of vertical transmission of Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV):
vaginal delivery
rupture of membranes >4 hours before delivery
preterm delivery (particularly <34 weeks)
use of FSE
FBS
chorioamnionitis
breastfeeding
high maternal viral load
