ABSTRACT
Paravaginal haematoma may manifest as shock, in the absence of significant bleeding.
Examine in theatre under general anaesthesia or epidural analgesia.
At examination under anaesthesia, ensure adequate exposure, with good lighting and an assistant.
Assess whether blood transfusion is required (there is a tendency to underestimate blood loss).
