ABSTRACT
The first challenge is to identify whether the abnormal movement reported is actually a seizure, as not all abnormal movement constitutes seizure activity. Getting the diagnosis of a seizure correct is important for several reasons, not least because having a seizure diagnosed usually leads to restrictions on driving and may adversely affect employment and personal insurance prospects. There are some features in the history and examination that help to decide whether the event described is a true seizure or not.
