ABSTRACT

The deformity involves the hindfoot and the forefoot; the hindfoot is in valgus; the forefoot is in abduction and the medial longitudinal arch is collapsed (Figure 7.1).1 It is important to recognize that all three of these components are part of the flatfoot deformity and that these components are interrelated. As will be come apparent in the later part of this chapter, adequate correction of one of these components will correct the other two components.
