ABSTRACT
There are many different drugs in an anaesthetic room that will be used regularly, rarely, alone or in conjunction with others. Knowledge of individual agents, their pharmacology and reasons for administration is essential to understanding the art of anaesthesia. Classes of drugs discussed in this chapter are:
= general anaesthetics; = muscle relaxants: neuromuscular blockers; = anti-cholinesterases; = local anaesthetics.
