ABSTRACT

Question 1: A 45-year-old obese patient is listed for a right-sided knee arthroplasty; 20minutes into the operation she becomes hypoxic, saturating at 88%. Her blood pressure is recorded at 85/45mmHg. On auscultation of the chest, there is a diffuse wheeze throughout and on exposure she has a rash.What is the first thing that should be done when managing this intra-operative complication? 1) Chlorpheniramine. 2) Intravenous fluids. 3) Oxygen. 4) Salbutamol. 5) Stop all likely precipitants.
